Flex Studios is a simple, motel-style hotel with 106 rooms on the Interstate 10 frontage, at the Wurzbach Road exit, in the Medical Center District on the northwest side of San Antonio. Rooms open onto exterior corridors and the whole property is non-smoking.
It suits travelers with a car who need a practical base: hospital visits, work at the Medical Center or USAA, a trip to UTSA or a weekend at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. San Antonio International Airport is 10 to 15 minutes by car, and Denny's, El Taco Tote and McDonald's are a short walk.
From March 1 to November 30 guests can use the outdoor pool, which has loungers and a lift for accessible entry: a welcome break in a city where July and August highs top 95°F. Parking is free on site and needs no reservation, which matters here, because in this part of San Antonio almost everything is reached by car.
Both room types are spacious and come with a microwave, a refrigerator, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and a private bathroom with tub and shower, handy for longer stays or hospital visits. Dogs and cats up to 20 lb are accepted, two per room at most, for an extra charge, and service animals are exempt from pet fees.
